The notebook and its AI tools have different requirements. Here’s what to check before you get started.
The everyday notebook
The Lersso 1.6 preview supports iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Capture, Library, Collections, Favorites, basic search and original-file export do not require Apple Intelligence or the optional SigLIP2 download.
In-app video recording is currently limited to 30 seconds. This website previews version 1.6. It does not announce public App Store availability. The installed build determines which features are enabled.
Text, speech and translation

Availability can change with Apple’s language, region and system support. Lersso shows unavailable capabilities in the app. Important results should be checked against the original material.
Optional Local AI photo search
Possible Matches uses an optional SigLIP2 model. In the current 1.6 preview, hardware eligibility is limited to iPhones with at least 8 GB physical memory and the supported iPad Air 11-inch (M2) Wi-Fi configuration. Other iPad configurations and devices with less than 8 GB are not enabled by this release policy.
It also requires iOS/iPadOS 26 or later, Pro, an enabled build, your download consent and sufficient storage. Eligibility is not a claim that every device configuration has been physically tested.
- The download is approximately 0.93 GB; allow at least 4 GB free storage to begin setup.
- Installed and working storage can exceed the download size.
- Download from Apple with a connection; photo matching can then run on-device offline.
- Cancel or retry a download, or remove and reinstall the model in Local AI. Removing it does not remove your original photos.
- Photo similarity does not establish facts, identities or actions. Video action understanding is not promised.
The app checks eligibility and current resource conditions. Pro cannot bypass those checks. Local AI help.
What works without a connection?
Locally available Records and media can be opened and organized offline. Installed local models can process supported work on-device, subject to device resources. Downloading models or languages, iCloud synchronization, App Store transactions, and speech configurations that use Apple’s servers need connectivity.
“Local first” does not mean every Apple service works offline. Download and verify the material you need before relying on it away from a connection.
